Mattucci Gets Serious About Taking Care of Torrance

Torrance City Council candidate Aurelio Mattucci has always been a hands on individual willing to take action. One of Mattucci’s campaign concerns is the “curb appeal” of Torrance and working to preserve and promote the beauty of our South Bay city. According to a recent statement on his campaign website, Mattucci is even ready to repave neglected streets with his own two hands.

“If elected I will push for a plan that would take care of the most effected areas first. The areas that have been abandoned by City Hall will get their streets repaved if I have to go out and shovel tar myself.” wrote Mattucci. Chances are, he means it.

For the past three years, Aurelio has spearheaded The Mattucci Project, an all volunteer organization that cleans up yards and sidewalks for homes or businesses that are unable to do so. The Mattucci Project volunteers clear away brush and debris, trim overgrowth, pull weeds and cart away trash. With a focus on locations where the owner is financially or physically incapable of managing a property’s maintenance alone, the Mattucci Project will provide their invaluable time and energy to anyone in need.

Mattucci is taking City Hall to task on this issue of caring for our streets, calling for an end to the “5 year plan” excuse. “No more empty promises,” says Mattucci, “…stop telling us, ‘There's No Money’. The money is there if we use our money on PRIORITIES. If you want things to change, the voters need to cut the chains that connect us to current and past administrations and get off to a fresh start.” Mattucci pledges to be a “hands on candidate that will get things done.” Given that he already has a proven track record of not being afraid to do the actual dirty work himself, voters can believe that when Mattucci says he will get something done, it gets done.

"Dude, Where's My Polling Place?" Get Informed for the June 3rd Election in California & Torrance

Make sure you know where to vote for Torrance City Council candidate Aurelio Mattucci.
The Los Angeles County Registrar’s office has made it easy to find your polling place and see a sample ballot at any time before the June 3rd election.

Just visit www.lavote.net/LOCATOR/ and enter your home address to find your voting location and to view a sample ballot for your district.

The June 3rd election covers several key races for the City of Torrance and primaries for the State of California. This is a crucial election day since the ballots are consolidated to include primary nomination voting for the state’s highest offices and general election final selections for local city offices. This means there is another general election day November 4th to choose between the top two candidates for statewide offices. Local city contests, however, will be decided on June 3rd. In other words, June 3rd is your only chance to vote for Aurelio Mattucci for Torrance City Council! Don’t miss the opportunity to make a choice that supports the future of Torrance business and families.

The races that will be decided on June 3rd are:
  • County Board of Supervisors Sheriff
  • Assessor
  • Superior Court Judge
  • Local districts or city contests
The voter-nomination primary races to vote for on June 3rd are:
  • Governor
  • Lieutenant Governor
  • Secretary of State
  • Controller
  • Treasurer
  • Attorney General
  • Insurance Commissioner Board of Equalization
  • United States Representative State Senator
  • State Assembly Member
In 2010, California voters decided on a new “Top Two” primary system. This new system puts all candidates on every ballot regardless of political party affiliation. Any voter can vote for any candidate from any party. The candidates receiving the two highest number of votes in each race will move on to the November General Election. This can mean that there may even be two candidates from the same party vying for the same office. The “Top Two” system puts more power in the hands of voters, because the nominations are truly decided by the voters and not the parties. In a state like California where there are several prominent political parties, this new system allows for a wider freedom to choose the candidate that best represents your concerns.

City Council elections are not defined by partisan affiliations.

The Best Candidate for Torrance City Council

Many concerned Torrance voters are probably asking, “Who should I vote for in the June 3rd Torrance election?” “What are the most important qualities in an outstanding City Councilperson?” Given recent abuses of power in nearby cities like Bell, one major concern when electing any city official is, “Do they have the city’s best interests at heart?” “How will my city councilperson handle the financial responsibility?”

For one Torrance City Council candidate, responsible budgeting practices is a huge priority.  Aurelio Mattucci believes in a conservative approach to spending that prioritizes necessity over popularity. With an eye on the future impact of today’s budgeting decisions, Mattucci will “make sure the tax payers are also in the decision process and not unilaterally make decisions that benefit a few and burden all.”

Responsible budgeting also falls in line with Mattucci’s additional concerns of public safety, education and maintaining the beauty of Torrance. When all of these areas are well managed, Mattucci hopes that new businesses will be attracted to set up shop in Torrance and that the businesses already here will have the opportunity to thrive and not just survive. He has created a significant business plan to support local business interests and promote prosperity.

By focusing spending on the police department to keep our families safe, on our schools to ensure our children have the best advantages for a successful future and helping businesses to become and stay successful here, Torrance City Council candidate Aurelio Mattucci is the candidate who will really take care of Torrance's needs.

Vote for Torrance City Council

Torrance, California is an ideal community to raise a safe, healthy, happy family. No one knows this better than City Council candidate Aurelio Mattucci. His family planted his Southern California roots by moving here when he was just six years old. Mattucci is now further strengthening those roots by raising his own children here in Torrance.

It’s clear to see that strong family ties are important to Aurelio Mattucci just by looking at what he stands for.  Public Safety and Education are at the top of Mattucci’s list of priorities for improving and maintaining the quality of life in Torrance.

If we can't feel safe in our own neighborhoods we will live in fear.  I am a strong supporter of our local Police Department and I will always strive to insure the safety of our community,” Mattucci says on his campaign website. He also advocates for community involvement, with neighbors getting involved to look out for each other to prevent crime before it happens and landlords stepping up to provide well-lit and secure properties.

It could be argued that the very first step in preventing crime begins with a strong education in a safe and effective school. Mattucci is a strong proponent of community involvement in the Torrance Unified School District as well to work toward the goal of having the best possible schools for our children.  When elected, Mattucci plans to promote more programs for kids and parents and making sure that taxpayers have a say in where there money gets allocated. Furthering community involvement, Mattucci recommends community volunteerism and private sponsorships.  Mattucci believes parents should be able to pick up a paintbrush to improve a classroom and approved companies should be able to donate for improvement and construction projects as corporate benefactors.

For candidate Aurelio Mattucci, he’s not seeking election for personal gain. For him, it’s about getting his hands in the soil to tend to the roots of the city as a whole, providing a beautiful and rewarding life for all families and businesses. There is real action behind his words which can be seen through his all-volunteer organization, The Mattucci Project, which comes to residences or businesses in need to remove trash, debris and weeds, trim overgrowth and offer educational resources for those who may be struggling to maintain a property.

These are just a few reasons why Aurelio Mattucci is the right choice for Torrance City Council.
